19th Century Continental Scent Bottle with Silver Lid
This is an attractive late 19th Century Continental Cut Glass Scent Bottle with a Silver Lid. The glass bottle is cut all around the body with a ribbed pattern whilst the silver lid is embossed with a flowers and foliage design.
There are no marks on the bottle or cap at all so we cannot say exactly where and when it was made but the style is typical of the Belle Epoque era in late 19th century France and this is most likely its origin.
Condition is very good, with no chips or cracks in the glass or the stopper, which fits securely into the top of the bottle. There are two small pinholes in the top of the lid where the silver has been polished through by many years of cleaning but these are only really visible if you hold the lid up to the light. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The scent bottle is a perfect size to slip into a handbag for a night out. It measures 7.4cm / 2.9ins high, 2.8cm / 1.1ins wide and 1.7cm / 0.67ins deep. It weighs in at 47.7g / 1.68oz.
Shipping in the UK is £6.50 by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For Parcel Post.
