Chippendale George II Large Giltwood Mirror c.1750

A very fine and elaborately carved George II giltwood frame with a later mirror plate (the plate made with some distressing to appear much older).
This was originally a floor standing screen and the decoration is identical to both sides. It dates from c. 1750.
This may originally have had mirror plate to both sides but now there is a mirror plate to one side only and it is designed to be wall hung.
The top rail is surmounted by a beautiful pair of finely detailed ho ho birds and the whole frame is wrapped with scrolling foliage and flowers around a swept concave inner border and with numerous fluid crestings in the manner of Thomas Chippendale.
An exemplary 18th century mirror of unusually fine quality and in excellent condition with few if any restorations and the original water gilding in good order throughout.
Dimensions are:
34 inches wide, 3 inches deep max and 52 inches high.
For metric please multiply by 2.5 I describe and photograph my pieces accurately and with the aim that on arrival each will exceed expectations.
I operate a full refund guarantee and am always happy to give free, honest and friendly advice.
