Antique quality very large gilt framed wall mirror overmantle approximately 6' 8" x 4'6".

This quality frame is made by the well respected German manufacturer C. Blecken and is fitted with recent 6mm mirrored glass with a bevel edge.

We are unsure of the exact age of the frame, but it appears to be early 20C. The frame would look very at home housing an 18C grand master. It would be hard to tell that this wasn't an 18C frame unless you looked very carefully or examined the back.

Lovely large proportions and opulent styling.

Very solid and heavy (probably around 50kg).

Frame 2040mmW x 1350mmH.

Mirror surface 1770mmW x 1090mmW.

There are some historic knocks marks, damage and repairs to the frame as is usual. There is some cracking to the guesso, but the mirror only appears to have lost a few small pieces which doesn't greatly detract and in a way seems to add to the age and charm. The gilt paint has been touched up here and there, but overall this mirror looks fantastic. There is a later plywood back. There are no mounts or fixings, but a customer will most likely want want to fit the correct ones for the proposed location and orientation of hanging.

Please note that this mirror is very heavy. Please make sure before buying that it will fit in and can be maneuvered into the room that it is intended for. The customer will need to provide 1 strong able bodied person (or preferably more) to assist our driver carrying the mirror.
