Description

Handsome Louis XVI style mahogany bureau plat or writing desk c.1960. 59" x 29" top with original tooled leather work surface, projecting corners and a moulded edge. With 9½" slides drawing out from both ends to afford extra space. Five drawers with matched flame mahogany veneers, brass mouldings and knobs, arranged around the central raised kneehole. Matched bookleaf flame mahogany veneers to the sides and rear, also with brass mouldings, polished all round. Raised on fluted turned and tapering legs with brass mounts and feet front and rear. Some minor wear to the finish, otherwise good colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
