Description

Unusual early 20th.c. chinoiserie style gramophone c.1920. Wind-up 78 rpm gramophone by Fullotone in a tall chinoiserie case with oriental scenes in raised gold lacquerwork against a black ground. Two small doors below the turntable baffle the speaker to provide volume control. Two door cupboard in the base with vertical divider for storing discs. Ogee moulded lid, shaped uprights and feet and a shaped apron. Unfortunately there is a slight twist in the lid meaning the front left hand corner is slightly raised (approx 1cm) when closed. Otherwise very good condition. The mechanism works well with original winding handle and plenty of spare needles supplied. Case has been cleaned and polished in our workshops.
