Description

Exceptional Edwardian era Arts & Crafts oak and copper fireplace dated 1903. Tall oak surround of tapering form with an broad ogee moulded cornice, arched panel and a mantle shelf below which the date 1903 is carved with stylized numerals flanked on each side with applied hearts. Fabulous copper insert with a beautifully shaped hood below a shallow arch with repoussé shield motifs, decorative expressed rivets and hooks for fire implements Sold together with a matched copper fender with simple Celtic knot detail. Excellent condition, the oak surround has been cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
