Description

Black Forest wear tobacco jar holder produced in and around the Swiss town of Brienz c.1900. Carved in Linden (or Lime) wood as Black Forest bears with glass eyes. Two bear cubs playing around a tree stump. Hinged top opens to reveal space inside for a tobacco jar, the small holder on the side would have been for matches. Excellent condition.
Dimensions: Width 8", Height 11", Depth 7½".
