Description

Fine quality mid 19th.c. rosewood centre table by the acclaimed London cabinet makers Johnstone & Jeanes c.1860. 57" x 40" oval top with beautifully figured book leaf rosewood veneers symmetrically arranged on solid mahogany groundwork. With a moulded edge and slim crossbanded apron. On fluted double column supports raised on shapely splayed legs with the flutes and carved detail highlighted in gilt. Joined with a matching stretcher. Original brass castors recessed below the feet. Stamped on the underside for Johnstone & Jeanes, 67 New Bond St, London. Minor damage to one of the column supports, otherwise very good condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
