Description

Fine quality walnut side cabinet by the acclaimed Art Furniture cabinet makers Henry Ogden & Son of Manchester c.1880. Just 44" wide. Raised back with an arched gallery and slim shelf on turned spindles and a bevelled mirror panel below. Over a single door cabinet (internal depth 9") flanked with four open display shelves, each with a mirror panel at the rear. Arch top glazed panel to the door over a pair of raised and fielded panels with original Aesthetic Movement hand painted floral decoration in the manner of Bruce Talbert. Original brass door handle. Superb cabinet making in solid walnut throughout with crisp carved and moulded detail, note the half sunflower head to the top of the gallery and the unusual shaped arches above the upper shelves on the base. Turned front supports, repeated from the top, a row of short turned spindles below the doors and raised on turned feet front and rear. Clear maker's stamp to the top edge of the door. Excellent original colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
