Description

Elegant George III mahogany chest of drawers c.1800. Bow fronted with four long drawers of graduated height. Satinwood crossbanded border to the top with inlaid stringing over a slim crossbanded frieze with satinwood stringing continued on the sides. Note the lack of any moulding to the edges of the top. Cockbeaded drawer fronts with matched veneers and very attractive brass handles (later replacements). With the inlaid stringing repeated around the base, over a shaped apron and splayed feet at the front and sides. Oak drawer linings. Some minor wear and repairs, generally excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
