Description

Mid 19th.c. Welsh oak glazed kitchen cabinet or 'cwpwrdd gwydr' (glass cupboard) from Anglesey, c.1830. Short glazed top fitted with two shelves (depth 7½") with a raised front lip to hold plates. Over a tall chest of two short and three long drawers of graduated height. Flared cornice over a flame mahogany veneered frieze and arch top glazed panels. Mahogany inlaid and crossbanded drawer fronts with the original brass knobs and inlaid bone escutcheons. Flanked with attractive turned pilasters to the front corners with mahogany veneered blocks above and below, note the inlay to the upper blocks. Unusual pierced brackets to the front feet. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
