A Rather Lovely Hermle Five Glass Mantel Clock with four Polished Bells, this clock is something very different for us, I am guilty in assuming that these “modern” clocks must be rubbish simply because they are “new” however I have been quietly surprised in the quality, The movement is brass with bronze bushings for added durability. It features a 5 jewel platform escapement and a 4-bell precision tuned Westminster chime. The dial is brushed silver with black Roman numerals, trimmed in brass and includes a separate seconds dial just below the 12. The mahogany five glass case is totally undamaged and has been made well along with well finished bevelled glass. I know that it is not a substantial Georgian fusee clock that would hold up the Forth Bridge but I do believe care has been taken in its manufacture to make a future classic.
