Description

Set of four (mid-20th century) Danish teak dining chairs designed by Johannes Andersen for Uldum Mobelfabrik and covered with the unusual, but very attractive, hard-wearing / heavy duty fabric depicting Egyptian hierogliphs. The back rests are beautifully curved and sculpted, as are the tapering, rounded legs and possibly the broad seats were re-upholstered in the 1970s following the very popular Tutenkhamun exhibition at the British Museum, London in 1972. The fabric is un-marked and the frames are in extremely good order making the sturdy chairs very comfortable and an attractive design which will go well with a variety of teak dining tables.
