Description

1960s Teak & Black Leather two-Seater Sofa with matching swivel / reclining armchair á la 60s Mad Men US TV Series.
Both items are labelled Lied Mobler, Made in Norway, (that later became Soda Galvano) and constructed from solid teak with leather arm rests and cushioning which is held in place by leather straps and press studs over the frames. The sofa stands on two T-bar braced legs whilst the iconic reclining, lounger armchair has the very stable and solid five-branched teak stand.
The teak is in excellent condition on both the sofa and the chair. The leather is also in extremely good condition with all buttons in place and minimal signs of wear overall. As might be expected, where hands have been placed on rising from the chair, the arms do show some abrasions which goes to evidence authenticity rather than detract from the very good condition.

These items really are a 1960s iconic style statement, in fact, the chair was chosen by the set designer, Claudette Didul, for the living room of Don Draper’s 1966 Manhattan apartment in the ‘Mad Men’ American TV series set in the 1960s.
