Wonderfully decorative 19th century English gilt garland overmantle or console mirror with original glass, circa 1840.
Great size for a mantle mirror but also a console or to hang over a sideboard. The mirror has retained much of its original gold leaf with some touch ups here and there as you would expect for a mirror of this style.
Fabulous gilt colouring and the draped garlands are in remarkable condition showing only very minor restoration of the years.
The original mirror plate glass has a lovely mellow glow to it and has some pitting marks, but no dark blemishing.
Great mirror and not too heavy, so this can be hung easily and will look sensational once up on the wall!
