Description

Fantastic original French black lacquered bureau plat desk, or perhaps dressing table if you were to have a wall mirror or free standing mirror on top...circa 1900.
Style wise, Napoleon III or louis xvi style, turned and fluted legs ( tricky to see in the photos but you can make out the fluting in the closer detailed shots ), moulded edges to the drawers, solid oak drawers with dovetails and all run well - all three drawers have their original locks and keys, all working too.
The top has its original leather and gilt tooled edge top, in good condition with some marks here and there, but nothing of concern and is coming up well with cream to revive.
The rear of the desk is finished with the black lacquer, so it can free stand if required.
Great decorative item...I am staining out some of the areas of wear under the drawers and the desk underside, but otherwise, this is in original condition.
