Description

This is a lovely late c19th French kingsize bed in the louis xv style, circa 1880.
The bed frame is substantial, has its original old French green / grey finish with a highlight to the carvings in a deep blue green.
I have had the upholstery restored and is now lined, ready for you to add the top fabric...I can assist you with this if you don't have access to an upholsterer.
Beautifully carved frame and substantial, original decorative side rails too which ARE long enough to accommodate a standard modern mattress of 150cm x 200cm long ( you could place a divan within the frame if you wish ).
The bed frame is price as you see it here, but if you need help with the upholstery, please get in touch - this can be done for you for around £175 + vat if finished with a double pipe edging or a braid, studs would increase the price if required.
You may also choose to repaint the frame if the colour is not right for you, butn obviously better to do this pre upholstery!

Internal mattress area is 60'' or 152cm wide x 79'' or 201cm long

Viewing here in Uppingham is very welcome in my spacious barn studio but also I have a showroom based within the Uppingham Antiques Centre, which is well worth a visit and have a good lunch in town too!
I can arrange delivery to you, whether you are within the UK or require an international delivery service, please do get in touch…as a mainland UK guide, a delivery for something around the size of a chest of drawers within approx 150 miles will be £75 to you, but if you if you are in Scotland, Wales, Ireland or Cornwall please get in touch to confirm delivery costs!

All of my items are antique and will therefore, have some signs of age and use, but I restore everything necessary and you will receive a good quality piece that is well represented in my photographs...no problem to send you more info or photos of any item you would like, just let me know.
In the very unlikely event you would like to return your item, this is no problem, but you must use a fully insured delivery firm. All transport costs are your own responsibility, as per standard
