Description

Very unusual mid c19th gentlemans vanity table, stamped "GILLOWS" circa 1850.
The table top is hinged and when opened, it offers the two additional surfaces and internally it is all compartmentalised, along with a hinged mirror with easel fitting.
The mirror is, in my opinion, beautiful but it is heavily foxed so you can't really see a lot of reflection. If you are to use the vanity table as intended, I can have the mirror glass replaced if you would rather.
There is a single full width drawer which is oak lined and dovetailed as you would expect.
Standing on tapered square legs and block feet. The whole piece is finished with a fine banding.
If you are to use the table top as a side table, it will hold a table lamp with ease.
Interesting and unusual piece, certainly elegant and full of style.
Measuring:
30 1/4” or 77cm high
23 3/4” or 60.5cm wide or
47 3/4” or 121.5cm opened width
16 3/4” or 42.5cm deep
22 1/4” or 56.5cm high in the kneehole
