Certainly one of the best French Louis Philippe figured walnut and marble top commodes I have had the pleasure of handling, circa 1860 and in great condition.
The figured walnut veneers match throughout the drawers and frame to the front and the sides are also book matched too with more figured walnut and has the most wonderful warm colour which contrasts very well with the original charcoal marble top.
The chest of drawers consists of four full width drawers and retain their own decorative brass escutcheons. The bottom three drawers have original locks and all work, whereas the top frieze drawer has no working lock.
Great piece of decorative furniture but also super practical if you need something for storage with style!

51 1/4 inches for 130.5 cm wide
25 3/4 inches or 65.5 cm deep
