Description

A lovely early oak lowboy c. 1705-1710 from a private home and in the same family for at least five generations. Completely original with original brass hand cast and engraved handles with hand turned threads, twin plank top, pegged and morticed througout, original frame and tenons visible in the backboard. A rare untouched piece, new to the market, and exceptionally rare. Superb colour and patination. The drawers and drawer linings original also with lipped drawer fronts and scratch carved channel to the outer frame. Lovely shaped aprons to front and sides, the fronts with original turned acorn finials, long and substantial cabriole legs terminating in large pad feet.

The lowboy is utterly complete and original and a very rare example indeed made c. 1690-1710
