Description

This superb bijouterie table is in particularly fine original condition and is of excellent quality.

The table retains its original glass and original brass lock with working key. The buttercream silk lined interior is in excellent condition also with no marks or stains.

Made in a beautifully grained rosewood - so called because it smells of roses for many years when it is first cut, the table would have once displayed fine, valuable and delicate items such as early porcelain, silver and gemstones.

Very heavy and robust with no damage or repairs and a lovely wide octagonal shape over an octagonal tapering column and set on a splayed octagon base with scrolled and gilded feet with original concealed small brass casters.

Of excellent rich and vibrant colour and with a deep natural sheen to the finish, this beautiful bijouterie table is in complete and very original condition.
