Early 19th Century Solid Pine and Glazed Dresser

Description
A truly beautiful Georgian solid pine dresser with glazed top over two drawers and double cupboard c. 1820A lovely ripe melon colour that only very old pine develops, heavy and sturdy and of handsome proportions.
The back covered with two huge hewn pine boards with hand made iron nail fixings.
The pair of upper doors with chamfered detailing to the glazing bars, retaining all original hand made glass and with a pair of small brass button handles - one with brass turn catch which allows you to lock the doors - and enclosing two original fixed pine shelves with plate bead at rear - the whole surmounted by a wide flared original cornice.
Both drawers with original and substantial pine linings and turned pine handles (no evidence of other or earlier handles).
The lower cupboard with pair of attractively moulded double panel doors, again each with brass button handle and with brass turn catch and an old redundant lock. Enclosing a single full width original fixed pine shelf. All set on a wide and heavy plinth base. The upper and lower doors and the two drawers open and close smoothly and stay shut when closed.
The dresser does not dismantle - it was made in one piece and dates from c. 1820
Old dings, marks and a coulple of old natural fine splits to the pine (stable, natural shrinkage when the dresser was first made, and not going anywhere), some historic worm holes with old depletions to right hand lower flank (long since treated and dead).
This dresser very heavy and of an unusually good quality. The pine has developed a very lovely and consistent colour throughout.
Entirely usable, substantial and a very genuine early example.
