Description

A most attractive Queen Anne oak drop leaf supper table dating from c. 1710 with bulb and reel turned legs, original pegs and six plank original top.
Of well balanced proportion and having a rich natural colour, with most attractive natural patina, bruising and marks from more than 300 years of use, wax and care.

The table is sturdy and robust and the leaves open smoothly and rest firmly on original hinged gatelegs. The drawer original throughout and with forged iron hinges.

A scattering of old worm holes which are long since dead on some of the frame immediately below the top and some very minor restorations but nothing untoward or unpleasant.

In good and very original condition, charming and of a useful size.

Could be used as a centre or side table or, as was intended, a small fold away supper table seating four people in comfort. From a private local house and priced to sell.

Dimensions are:

42 inches wide, 15 inches deep and 27.5 inches high.

When both leaves are extended, the depth is 49 inches.

For metric please multiply by 2.5
