Description

A beautiful pair of French bronze matchstick holders in the form of a happy old man and his wife, glasses raised to toast you!

Their heads are hinged and open to reveal the matchstick holder – the strikes are set between their ‘leather’ booted feet.

Fabulously detailed bronzes of considerable weight and with a good warm brown patina. Both set on their original marble socles and without damage to bronzes or bases.

Excellent quality, a rare true pair in superb condition.

Completely original and great fun – would make a lovely and unique wedding gift.

5.5 inches high, 3.5 inches deep, 3.5 inches wide.
