Description

Beautifully embroidered by hand in gold thread on black silk, this superb pair of 19th century Chinese panels are set within a mahogany framed fire screen – the frame is aesthetic movement in design and dates from the late 19th Century, the panels are in my view a little earlier.

The four dragons are each unique and there is superb fluidity in every movement, each chasing a flaming pearl.

Perfectly preserved for more than a century, the gold bright and untarnished and without damage.

These are beautiful works of art set within an elegantly turned solid mahogany frame.

Max width when unfolded is 41 inches and height is 30 inches.

When folded the width is 20.5 inches.
