George I Walnut and Featherbanded Dressing Mirror

Description
On behalf of a client.A lovely quality period George I waterfall dressing table mirror with ogee cushion framed mirror and original handles. The main carcase dressed in thickly cut walnut which have a well developed patina and a lovely colour. The drawers are oak lined and original with very finely cut oak boards and tiny dovetails. The long drawer has its original lock. To each drawer there is a featherbanded inlaid border and there is a matching arched featherbanded inlay to the lower shelf.
The well fitted drawers open and close very smoothly and there is a small secret drawer is above the pigeon hole, again oak lined and the finest quality work. The framework around the drawers all finished with tiny double cushion mouldings.
The mirror plate has a lot of age and some minor wear but is probably a 19th Century replacement. The walnut veneer is extremely thickly cut and it dresses the whole mirror including the dustboard under the lower drawers. If you remove these drawers you can see two areas where the veneer has removed. Not at all visible unless the drawers are removed completely but mentioned here for completeness.
This is a genuine 18th Century walnut dressing mirror which has some later elements and minor restoration and this is reflected in the price.
