Description

A George II mahogany card table with counter wells and candle stands of unusually small and rare proportions and with an original drawer. Of excellent colour and in original condition, a superb example in Cuban mahogany. English, London made, with lovely understated cabriole legs on pad feet with lappet knees and finely tapered ankles terminating in pooled pad feet. Of shaped form with stepped projecting rounded corners.

No new timbers, very sturdy both open and shut and in particularly good condition. No warps or significant restorations, minor superficial marks and dings. Some old worm holes, but only a few and long since dead. Baize is clean and usable but shows age.

A really wonderful table, heavy and particularly fine quality and the colour is super
