Description

A most attractive original oil on board, continental school c. Late 19th/early 20th century, showing a naval engagement c. 1600 with ships in full sail and cannon. In a good quality heavy giltwood frame with egg and dart, foliate and lily embossed frame. Unattributed. Ready to hang.

The painting and the frame are in excellent original condition, the frame in with a small restoration and re-gilding to bottom right hand corner.

A very well executed painting, eye catching and beautifully detailed.
