Description

A very fine pair of original Queen Anne walnut dining chairs in excellent condition and with a very good colour. The chairs with beautiful vase shaped splats and scroll carved cabriole legs inlaid with classical urns, ribbon ties, paterae and swags in harewood, box, ebony and sycamore

Beautiful rake the back with lovely carved scroll over the top rail, lovely curvaceous seat and back with raked back legs.

The well padded drop in seats covered in a pale duck egg silk and linen fabric, probably Gainsborough Silk Company, in very good condition.

A rare and beautiful pair of early chairs, of substantial proportions, and with no later timbers, worm, breaks or significant repairs, made by a skilled hand in c. 1720.

Both chairs of consistent colour and condition, a very striking pair of early walnut chairs, sturdy and heavy with no loose joints.

Dimensions of each chair (all max) are:

Width is 22 inches, depth is 22 inches and height is 40.5 inches.

From floor to seat is 17.5 inches and from seat to top of back is 23 inches. Depth of seat from front to back is 16.75 inches.
