Description

A lovely large carved cherrywood longcase clock. We date this clock to the late 20th century.

The clock sits on a protruding base section with a stepped plinth base.

This lovely clock has been fully serviced.

The front of the clock has a right hand side hinged door with glass panels for the clock face and the lower section to see the weights and pendulum. There are ornate carvings above the glass panels and down both sides of the door. The base section has a hinged door with an oriental carving. Both doors have oriental hanging brass handles.

The clock face is brassed with bold Roman numerals and decorative brass decorations with a Tempus Fugit globe above. At the outer sides of the clock face there is a decorative pierced lyre to each side.

The clock has a height of 82.5" (210cm), a base width of 21.5" (55cm) and a base depth of 13" (33cm).

This lovely large longcase clock remains in good condition with only minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage.

This remains a very stylish and elegant clock which will continue to provide sterling service for many years to come.
