Description

This gorgeous inro is a pure delight,it displays a landscape with hills,bridges,Mount Fuji and cartouches depicting the 53 stations of the Tokaido Road in black lacquer on gold foil,the Tokaido Road connects Kyoto and Tokyo.
In addition are some of the names of famous sights in takamaki-e or raised lacquer work.
To the inside nashiji decoration,with a coral ojime,signed Koryusai and pot seal in red lacquer.
An excellent and intricate signed example of this form of Japanese fine art.

Good condition,there is wear to the names of most of the station names,the coral ojime has a crack.
