Description

Unique, bold and beautifully crafted, this Victorian gilt silver pearl and blue enamel locket on a fancy chain is an absolute showstopper.

The locket is set with 9 pearls, 4 of which are in striking diamond frames with royal blue enamel decoration.

Both the locket and chain are heavily engraved with the most amazing details. The back of the locket is decorated with roses in a highly detailed fleur-de-lys frame, with further engraving to the side and front too.

But it's the chain that I find the most fascinating: not just the elaborate links, but the ornate round disks attached to them.
At first they all look the same, but on closer inspection you notice that the engraving is slightly different on each of them, as if they were some fancy symbols hiding a secret message.

The chain has an extended length of just under 42 cm.
The locket is 4.1 x 3.3 big (excluding the bale) with a diameter of 0.8 cm to the little disks.

Weight: 39 grams

Condition: some scratch marks to the front and bale (possibly related to testing), otherwise very good for age.

This is a piece fit for a queen and would make a fabulous present to a special person.

The necklace comes in the antique box in the picture with domestic shipping only, which is FREE of charge.
