Description

This is a delightful vintage wind-up music box with a couple dancing the waltz in front of 6 angled mirrors when the lid is opened.

It's quite a complex movement, with the pair bobbing up & down and twirling left & right, not to be confused with the usual music boxes with a simple spinning ballerina inside.

Another charming thing about this one, is that the dancers have suspended dangling legs, which appear to move as they dance.

The dancers can be removed when the box is not in use.

The box is 13.5 x 10.5 cm big and has the inscription 'Ballerina' to the front.

Inside it has royal blue lining and a golden 'stage'.

Condition: some marks to the lid and 'fogging' to the back of the mirrors - the latter actually adds to that old charm in my opinion.
Otherwise good for age.

The music box is in good working order at present, but is sold as is with no warranty.

It would make a unique gift for a birthday, anniversary, Christmas or wedding.
