Early 19th century pewter measuring tankard of classic shape. Made with an elegant pouring spout and C scroll handle. Underneath is the inscription ' Boars Head Inn, Braintree Essex' where, presumably, it spent its early working life. Still working it has several excise marks added through the nineteenth century.DateMid 19th Century :
