A small early plate decorated with a phoenix amongst foliage in underglaze blue. A few tiny firing faults and minimal fritting. In amazing condition fo0r something that saw a good few years of Elizabeth the first's reign! Everything about it is exactly what you need to see for complete faith in the age.DateLate 16th Century :
