Description

A handsome wine glass from the days of plentiful servants. The glasses of the period were designed to convey a single glug, to be consumed normally each time a toast was proposed. After which a fresh supply was bought, hence the need for an adequate amount of servants. The customs of the day, but as soon as the ladies retired larger glasses were the order of the day which didn't need to be constantly refilled, very wise. The bowl is nicely engraved with grapes and leaves, held aloft on a superb folded foot with the expected pontil mark.
