Blue Moroccan-leather covered easel back. Finely cast and finished solid silver ribbon detail. Original green watered-silk backing. Back-board secured by retaining slot to bottom of frame together with swivel clips. Clear hallmarks for the Birmingham Assay Office 1913 and silversmiths Henry Williamson Ltd. The frame is in overall excellent condition commensurate with age. No "dints" or damage to the silver frame which is pristine. Watered-silk backing has faded with age. The back is complete and very securely held. The supporting easel "leg" has been replaced at some point in its life by a solid wooden support. Please see images as these form an important part of the description.

The company was initially established by Henry Williamson in 1865 based at Faringdon Road, London – registering their first hallmark at the London Assay Office in 1879. The company was converted to a limited liability in 1892, trading as Henry Williamson Ltd. By 1894 they had expanded into additional premises at Spencer Street in Birmingham but were acquired by a new owner in 1898 – continuing to trade under the same name. The company experienced financial difficulties in the 1920s eventually closing in the 1930s. Henry Williamson Ltd produce small silver items such as pill boxes, card cases, cigarette cases as well as photograph frames.
