A 16th Century, Elizabethan,
Walnut Boarded Bench, Circa 1580.

Typically constructed of five boards, the seat with a central S-shaped aperture, and with an ogee-profiled apron to each long side, the shaped and gently splayed end-supports mortised into the seat, and with V-cutaway ends to form feet.
