16th Century Oak Board Chest Of Small Proportions


16th century oak board chest
Circa 1560
Of small proportions
Constructed with riven oak boards and iron nails,six plank design with gothic arch feet.
The base board shows signs of the hatchet tool used to create it.
Great colour and patina as one would expect.
Overall in original condition ,the pin hinges are later and the lock plate allthough period and in place for the past two hundred is not the original and there is a split to one side that has a metal country repair inside.
A great little chest which has survived the test of time and II dare say will last a lot longer.
A good addition to any collection
