1796P Light Cavalry Trooper's Sabre c.1800

A good example of a British 1796 pattern light cavalry troopers sabre, arguably the most famous sword of the Napoleonic Wars. With an 80cm, single fullered, curved steel blade ending in a hatchet point. With a steel stirrup hilt and a leather covered grip. In its original steel scabbard with two suspension rings.
Condition – Light surface pitting to the steel scabbard and to the hilt, commensurate with age. Blade very clean with minimal pitting. Small piece of leather missing from grip, as is the wire binding. Overall very good condition for a sword of this age. 1 metre long overall.
