17th c Scottish chair from Braemar Castle

A 17th century Scottish stained Scots pine open arm elbow chair with a shaped scroll carved rail centred by a roundel with 's' scrolls. The chair has triple splats, open scroll arms, and solid seat, on turned and square section leg which are united by stretchers.
Underneath is a typed label with a black and white photograph of the chair. The label states 'This chair was probably made about 1680' and identifies the chair as being ''from Braemar Castle'. Braemar Castle is is located in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Ther present castle was built in 1628 and sits on a earlier site which dates back to the 11th century. Braemar Castle was attacked and burned in the Jacobite Rising of 1745.
The chair has seen repairs to the lower part of the rear legs where in the past, a new section has been spiced in to repair. There rear stretcher has been replaced at the same time. It appears likely the seat may have been hsitorically replaced at some point, but has good age.
Measuring: 113cm height to crest rail
Width: arm to arm 60 cm
Height to seat: 36.5cm
Scottish, late 17th century
