A fine 17th century Oak Coffer. Panelled and pegged throughout, it stands high on its stiles/legs. There is extensive carved decoration not only an embellished diamond to the front panels, there is also bands of carving and incised/struck decoration to even the sides of the coffer. The iron hinges are later, but the rest of the coffer is in superb original condition, with a warm colour and excellent waxed surface. Circa 1680.
