17th Century Charles II Ebonised Longcase Clock
A very rare longcased antique clock circa 1675.
10 “ dial with winged cherub head spandrels, silvered chapter ring, thin minute band and trident half hour markers.
The superblly made five pillar movement has full latches to both the dial feet and plate pillars.
This clock could, and indeed would have been made by an eminent maker, precisely who, could be speculated upon, however, there is no signature on the antique clock.
The case which is of small proportions at six feet three inches tall has been re-ebonised and the bun feet are replacements.
Complete with original brass cased weights and pendulum.
