A fine 17th century Flemish ark/ coffer of small proportions. The front decorated with carved studded boarders surrounding a pair of unusual Romayne type panels, depicting portraits of winged cherub heads. The chest still has its original lock and key and still fully functioning. The hinges are original, the candle box is missing and the sledge type feet are a later addition. The Ark is a lovely piece of antique furniture and in excellent condition.
