A charming 17th century oak bible box on later stand of great colour.

The moulded oak top opens to reveal a large storage compartment above a single drawer. Original key and lock mechanism present but the mechanism is stiff and there is no plate to the lid. Later brass escutcheon. The whole is raised upon a later oak stand with elegantly turned legs united by an X stretcher.

A practical piece boasting great colour, patina and proportions.
