17thc Yew Coaching Table With Later Mahogany Top
A rare late 17th century yew wood coaching table with later mahogany top of exceptional patina (colour).
This table consists of a late 17th century yew wood base of turned and trestle form of superb patina, one leg having been replaced with mahogany many years ago, being hard to distinguish between this and the original legs.
The solid oval mahogany top has a reeded edge, the top also being of superb patina. This top is not original to the base, most probably having been replaced in the late 18th century when fashions changed, although is a superb match and is a very versatile table as the top tilts.
This table is a rare and exceptional piece of English antique furniture of exceptional patina, it is in very good condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home or collection - this is a true piece for a connoisseur or collector.
