18C Georgian mahogany tilt top side supper table
Antique quality 18C Georgian mahogany tilt top side occasional supper table.
This is a fantastic piece of antique mahogany antique furniture that is very rare and hard to find.
This table has a lovely and very attractive wrythen turned and carved base.
Better quality than most, extremely heavy and solid.
There are no loose joints and the tilt mechanism works ok.
Would look great in the right location with a nice dark colour.
Dimensions Overall 820mm diameter top x 690mmH.
This table has been restored maybe 10 - 20 years ago and been refinished (spray polished). There are knocks, marks, scratches, repairs and alterations, as is to be expected for this type of antique furniture. There have been historic repairs /alterations to the tripod base and there is some metal strapping underneath (but it is all solid now). There is distortion in the top and base as is usual and adds to the charm of this piece. There is a later replacement catch. The top is made of two planks and there are signs of historic cracking at the join, but all appears to be well glued and stable now.
