18ct Gold 1946 Omega Bumper Automatic Watch

We have the real pleasure of being able to offer for sale this lovely 18ct gold example of the very first Omega automatic wristwatch.
This gentlemans 18ct solid gold sweep second watch has a lovely two tone silvered dial with an outer hour chapter marked with alternate Arabic numerals and dagger shaped batons, and an inner second/minute track. The dial is in an excellent condition and is made complete with good gold hour and minute hands along with a black second hand. All the hands like the dial are in an excellent condition. The watch is encapsulated beneath a nice clean acrylic dial and within snap back 18ct gold case. The case is generally in a very good condition with only minimal age related wear, although there is a small indentation to the back (see photograph 6). Removal of the case back reveals that the inside of the case is marked 0.750 for 18ct gold, signed Omega Watch Co within the standard Omega triangle, marked Fab Suisse, Swiss Made and carries the serial number 10797425. The inside of the case back also carries a number of servicing marks, something that is always good to see indicating that the watch was regularly serviced. Removal of the case back also reveals the movement. The movement of this watch is a 1946 Cal 28.10 RA PC bumper automatic movement, and as such represents an example of one of the very first Omega automatic movements. The movement is signed Omega, 17 Jewels, Swiss and carries the serial number 10706905 dating it to 1946. The movement is in an excellent condition having just returned from being serviced by our watchmaker.
The watch case is lust over 1 & 1/4 inches (32mm) in diameter excluding the crown and the watch is presented on a new chestnut grain brown leather strap (see photograph 5) with a Hirsch buckle. This watch like all of our watches is being sold with a full twelve month warranty.
