An imposing 18th Century Thai bronze of Buddha seated on the curled tail of the serpent king, Muchalinda. This is a well modelled and beautifully patinated bronze depicting Buddha being protected during a storm by the serpent king, Muchalinda whose 7 heads rise up to form a protective canopy over the deity. There is evidence of some historic repair to the rear of the base. This is not detrimental to the beauty and appeal of this fabulous sculpture. A very striking decorative sculpture.
