Antique 18th Century Burr Walnut Tallboy Chest on Chest of Drawers

A fine quality 18th Century antique tallboy, featuring attractive burr walnut veneers over a solid oak structure. This elegant chest on chest has been historically restored to a good standard and separates into two halves for easy transport.

The piece is solid, strong, and heavy, with no loose joints, and the drawers slide freely.

In good antique condition, showing expected signs of age, including historic knocks, marks, cracks, scratches, and wear. The locks are untested due to missing keys, and there are some historic (now extinct) woodworm holes, which have been treated as a precaution. This piece has later handles and escutcheons and may have been used as two separate chests at some point, as was common.
